The term hemorrhoids refers to a condition in which the veins around the anus are swollen and irritated. Hemorrhoids in many cases, is the result of intense “pushing”, however, there are other factors such as pregnancy, age, chronic constipation, diarrhea o spending too much time sitting down or certain diseases such as hepatic cirrhosis. Hemorrhoids could either be inside the anus (internal) or beneath the skin around the anus (external).
